Digital Storytelling and Rosewood:
Digital Documentaries for Engaged Pedagogy

This page hosts the digital storytelling videos created as part of the Virtual Rosewood Research project. Currently, only one video is available; a 25 minute piece created in cooperation with descendants for use on the Remembering Rosewood bus tours which visit important African American sites in Levy County. This video presents basic information about the history of Levy County and the settling of Rosewood. Also, after a section about the 1923 race riot, two survivors (Robie Mortin and Mary Hall Daniels) discuss what happened to them following the destruction of their childhood home.
